Summary

Coach Makie jumped into coaching right after his successful playing career for the University of Manitoba Bisons. John was the starting quarterback for the Bisons when they won the 2007 Vanier Cup. He was awarded the Bruce Coulter Award, given to the most valuable offensive player of the game. Since his playing days, John Makie has been the quarterbacks coach for the University of Manitoba. He has spoken at different coaching clinics and conventions on the topics of the quarterback position and offensive systems. Most recently, he presented at the 2014 Football Canada Coaching Association Convention in Saskatoon, SK.
